NaNoWriMo – 2009

Yet another good day! It can’t really last, can it? 3722 words today, cumulative total 11,590 words. It’s really going well, and I’m enjoying writing.

Another scorching day, with a further 3628 words having been written, for a cumulative total of 7868. I’m way ahead of NaNo schedule, which is fine, but I’m also ahead of my nutty 100k schedule, which is brilliant!

Samantha has a bad dream, and Tony looks around in places he shouldn’t be looking.

Day 1 of NaNo is finished.

Well, good Lord, I’ve had a hum-dinger (whatever that is) of a start to my NaNo. 4240 words, if you believe that?

I’m writing a horror story, based (a bit) on our experiences of moving to our present (and hopefully final) house. Think “Christine” meets “The Amityville Horror”.

I’ve introduced my main characters (the family Barton), and got them up to their new house. Nothing much happens, yet, and everyone settles down nicely for the first night in their new house.

It’s the start of NaNoWriMo again, and after a layoff of a few years, I’m back to give it another go. Since retiring last year, I find myself with a little more time available, so this year, as well as aiming for the NaNo 50,000 words, I’m aiming for double that, so I can hopefully edit it down to something approaching a reasonable novel length – 80,000 – 90,000 words.
